Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton and DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina have started with the cycle of organisation and implementation of round tables with the topic „Adult Education - Opportunity for Personal, Professional, and Social Development“ in the area of this canton.
First round table was held in Olovo on 17th of October for the region of Olovo and Vareš, and two more round tables were held afterwards: one in Kakanj, on 7th of November, for the region of Kakanj, Visoko, and Breza, and the other one in Zavidovići, on 9th of November, for the region of Zavidovići, Tešanj, and Maglaj.
Partner of the Ministry and DVV International in organisation of the round table in Kakanj was the Municipality of Kakanj whose representative, Mr Rešad Zaimović, was one of the chairpersons of the round table together with Ms Nevzeta Rezaković, member of the Council for Adult Education of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
Importance of organising such events in small areas was expressed during discussions at all three round tables, and particularly at the round table in Zavidovići. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Mr Mensur Sinanović, and the director of DVV International - Country Office B&H, Dr. Emir Avdagić were also present at this round table and participated very actively in the discussion.
Apart from the promotion of adult education as the fourth pillar of education according to UNESCO, the round tables' objectives are also presentation of the legal framework, networking of all relevant stakeholders, increasing participation in adult education programmes, identification of current needs, etc.
The last round table in this year will be held on Wednesday, 5th of December in Zenica.
