Aimed to get to know the adult education system and ongoing processes and challenges in the field, DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, organised a study visit to the Republic of Serbia from 13th to 17th of September.
Participants of the study visit were representatives of education ministries from Una-Sana Canton, Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde, Tuzla Canton and Sarajevo Canton, and representatives of the Institute for Adult Education of Republika Srpska.
Current education policies, financing adult education, procedures for accreditation of adult education providers and programs, as well as education authorities' and providers' response to the coronavirus pandemic challenges were in particular focus of the held meetings.
Apart from the visit's co-organisers, the Faculty of Philosophy University of Belgrade, the study group from Bosnia and Herzegovina was hosted by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia, National Academy for Public Administration, Center for Training, Dual Education and Education Policies of the Chamber of Economy of Serbia, Technical School „Drvo Art“, Education Center „Klett Edu“, and Center for Continuous Adult Education of the Agricultural School „Sonja Marinković“ in Požarevac.
One of the BiH delegation members was the Minister of Education and Science of Tuzla Canton, Mr. Elvis Baraković, Ph.D., who took over the minister position in January 2021. The minister expressed great interest in further developing adult education in Tuzla Canton and, consequently, the activities of DVV International in this canton will be increased in the upcoming period.
