The project entitled Women’s Rights Ambassadors for Empowerment and Change in Bosnia and Herzegovina has the overall objective of improving the environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the protection of the social and economic rights of women from vulnerable groups.
The key activity of DVV International at macro level is lobbying for legislation in adult education. Political structure of B&H is very complex so this activity includes cooperation with twelve ministries of education and a Department for Education in the Government of Brčko District.
Information system for controlling and monitoring adult education (abbrev. in B/C/S - ISKOOM) represents an online platform which connects key actors in the adult education system.
The journal „Adult Education“ has been published in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2001 and it is the only printed publication that deals with issues such as education, learning and training of adults in terms of lifelong learning.
Since 2019, the joint activities of DVV International and the Association for Local Development Initiatives ALDI have aimed to establish institutional cooperation in adult education and make it a powerful engine of developing this field in three administrative units: Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde, Sarajevo Canton, and Brčko District BiH.
DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina recognises the importance of management in education. Thus, it focuses on the capacity building of managers of primary and secondary schools and adult education centers. Two training programmes for managers have been developed so far and a handbook that follows the content of both programmes.
The acquisition of andragogical knowledge and skills, improvement of the professional competence of personnel and adoption of the andragogical principles in adult education organisations, enables the enrichment of educational offer and provides quality of the educational process, which is in accordance with the adopted laws on adult education and contributes to their implementation.
DVV International began its work in Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2000.
