Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde is now facing serious challenges in the field of skills development of labour, whereby one of the most important is a great misbalance between offer and demand on the labour market. Even though a demand for professional labour has increased, rate of unemployment is still above 37%. Therefore, Bosnia and Herzegovina and this canton need some new approach to education in order to improve the process of acquiring and developing skills necessary for having progress on more and more complicated labour market.
The Association for Local Development Initiatives has more than 20 years of experience in economic development, private sector development and empowerment of citizens to participate actively in the economic, social and political life of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its cooperation with DVV International has lasted for a long time, and in 2018 these two organisations implement a project named „Assuring and increasing quality in adult education in the context of lifelong learning through creation of better conditions for implementation of adult education“.
Increasement of quality and efficiency of adult education represents a first target of the Strategy of Adult Education of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde 2018-2022, as well as one of the targets of the Strategic Platform for Development of Adult Education in B&H 2014-2020, so that this joint project of ALDI and DVV International will contribute to the achievement of these targets.
The project defines three outcomes:
Target group for the training within the project are unemployed persons registered in the Office for employment, without appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for the labour market, as well as highly educated persons registered in the Office for employment.
Project duration: April - December 2018
DVV International began its work in Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2000.
