Membership in the European Association for Adult Education (EAEA)

The European Association for Adult Education (EAEA) represents the voice of non-formal adult education in Europe. EAEA is a European non-governmental organization with 120 members from 43 countries, which together includes over 60 million participants across Europe. EAEA is a European non-governmental organization whose goal is to connect and represent European organizations directly involved in adult education. Initially known as the European Bureau for Adult Education, the EAEA was founded in 1953 by representatives of several European countries. EAEA promotes adult education and access to and participation in non-formal adult education for all, especially for currently underrepresented groups.

Membership in the European Association for Adult Education (EAEA) represents an exceptional opportunity for organizations from third world countries. As EAEA members, these organizations have the opportunity to access rich sources of knowledge, experience and resources in the field of adult education in Europe. In addition, EAEA membership enables active participation in European initiatives and projects, which can contribute to the development of adult education in their countries. Connecting with European partners provides the opportunity to exchange best practices, strengthen capacities and improve the quality of adult education on a global level.

Representatives of DVV International – Country Office for Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with representatives of CEI Nahl and Amica Educa Tuzla, were present at the regional advocacy academy for Southeast Europe, held in Istanbul. Organized by the Regional Project "Eastern Neighbors" in cooperation with the European Association for Adult Education (EAEA) and the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE), the academy gathered representatives of key partners from six countries and advocacy experts with the aim of mutual learning, exchange of experiences and the development of new approaches to advocacy. As a result of the academy, at least four of the six countries will develop national advocacy plans over the next two years with the support of the project.
