The Law on Adult Education of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton was adopted today, at the 31st meeting of the Assembly of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and this canton is now the ninth canton in the Federation of B&H that has recognised a need for regulation of this field and has officially started with that process by adopting the Law.
It has been previously emphasized from the Ministry of education, science, culture and sport of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton that adult education is one of those fields whose systematic regulation can give a significant contribution to, among other things, enabling working age population, through the concept of adult education and lifelong learning, to be more competitive on the labour market which changes rapidly influenced by many technological changes and the digitalisation of the whole society.
The Law regulates norms, objectives and types of adult education in a systematic and unique manner in accordance with the principles and objectives defined on the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union.
With the adoption of this law, the field of adult education becomes legally regulated in 10 administrative units of B&H, and in the near future one can expect the Law on adult education to be adopted in two remaining units as well - Posavina Canton and Brčko District.
