An Inspiring Perspective: Džejna Velić on Adult Education

Džejna Velić, MA, Prof. Eng., a teacher at the “Džemal Bijedić” Secondary Vocational School in Goražde and a participant in the training program “Curriculum Development for Adult Education”, shared her insights on this important field:

“Providing opportunities for established individuals to pursue education in their chosen field represents a whole new dimension of educational work. Developing curricula for adult education is a completely different paradigm, where the focus shifts entirely to the skills and competencies that individuals need to acquire and develop in order to be adequately prepared for the labor market.

Adults bring with them a wealth of life and work experience, along with specific needs, which calls for a flexible approach. The curriculum is based on clearly defined learning outcomes and practical skills that put acquired knowledge into action.
