From May 6th to 13th, together with the staff of our partner organization Amica Educa from Tuzla, we visited the Volkshochschule (VHS) Cham in Germany, which last year signed a memorandum of understanding with Amica Educa, formalizing the partnership between these organizations.
The host of the visit, Mr. Winfried Ellwanger, the director of the school, along with his team, prepared a diverse program that expanded our knowledge and collaboration opportunities. We had the opportunity to get to know the activities of VHS, visit their branches throughout the Cham district, and gain insights into their financing mechanisms and the importance of establishing collaborations with authorities, companies, and local actors. The hosts also presented their quality management system and the Kufer management system.
We attended classes of various courses to see how their adult education programs are implemented in practice, and the hosts shared their experiences of working with participants who have refugee status. Additionally, we visited the specialized academy for social pedagogy, the Vocational School for Child Care in Furth im Wald, and had a meeting with the mayor of the city.
During the visit, we also held several meetings in Bad Kötzting with the Vocational School for Nursing, the Health Academy East Bavaria, the Tourism Academy East Bavaria, and the Wellness Cosmetic School.
The last day of the visit was dedicated to international projects at VHS Cham, as well as discussions on funding strategies and partnership development. Our visit extended to Regensburg, where we had a productive meeting at the OTH Regensburg Technical University, getting acquainted with their activities and exploring collaboration possibilities.
We express our gratitude to Volkshochschule Cham for their hospitality and the abundance of knowledge, inspiration, and valuable contacts we have gained during the visit.
