Lifelong Learning Days
Lifelong Learning Days in Bosnia and Herzegovina highlight the importance of the idea that learning continues throughout life and is essential for personal development, employability, and active participation in society. This initiative brings together institutions, organizations, experts, and citizens through a series of activities that emphasize the significance of adult education and non-formal learning in modern society.
During Lifelong Learning Days, various activities were organized that combined education, culture, and interaction, aiming to make learning accessible, engaging, and inspiring for all generations.
Prize Game – Connecting Education and Culture
One of the activities was a prize game on social media, designed to connect education and cultural content. Prominent institutions participated in this initiative: the Sarajevo War Theatre – SARTR, the Olympic Museum, and the National Theatre Mostar, which contributed through prizes and promotion to spreading the message about the importance of lifelong learning and cultural engagement.
Educational Quizzes in Five Cities
A special focus was placed on a series of educational quizzes organized in cooperation with Urban Quiz Story. They were held in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica, Bihać, and Mostar, bringing together participants of different ages. The concept of “learning through play” proved to be an extremely effective way to promote knowledge and critical thinking. Participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge in various fields, exchange ideas, and discover new information about education, culture, and social topics. The atmosphere was competitive yet educational, further emphasizing the value of non-formal learning approaches.
Education Fair and Conference in Sarajevo
The highlight of Lifelong Learning Days was the education fair and conference titled “Adult Education as a Force for Community Development – A Vision for the Future”, held in Sarajevo. The fair gathered numerous institutions, organizations, and experts in the field of adult education, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about programs, courses, and opportunities for professional development.
The conference provided space for discussion on strategic directions for the development of adult education, challenges in policy implementation, and possibilities for improving the lifelong learning system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Special emphasis was placed on topics related to digitalization of education, inclusiveness in learning, and linking education with the labor market. Panels and presentations brought together domestic and international experts, and the exchange of experiences and ideas contributed to creating recommendations for future steps in this field.
Through all these activities, Lifelong Learning Days reaffirmed the importance of continuous education as a foundation for personal and professional development in modern society.
