Basic Adult Education Training for Zenica-Doboj Canton held in Zenica

After the successfully realised basic adult education training in Mostar in June this year, DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina organised the basic adult education training in Zenica, from 11th to 13th of October 2018 in cooperation with Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton. The participants of the training were 23 teachers from primary and secondary schools from this canton, which offer adult education programmes.

The basic adult education trainings are aimed at all actors in the educational process of adult education, either a public educational institution or any other form of educational organizations. The acquisition of knowledge and skills, improvement of the professional competence of personnel and the adoption of the principles involved in adult learning organizations, enables the enrichment of the educational offer and provides quality of the educational processes, which is consistent with the adopted laws on adult education and contributes to their implementation.

The overall aim of the training is to increase existing and to provide new knowledge for participants regarding psychological basics, characteristics and learning styles, didactic-methodical settings of learning and teaching, means of work with adults and possibilities for application of specific methods and working types in everyday work in adult education.

The trainers have offered necessary knowledge and skills to the participants from five thematic categories:

  1. Adult learning - psychological basis, characteristics and learning styles;
  2. Communication and interaction in adult education;
  3. Visualization and presentation in educational work with adults;
  4. Interactive methods in adult education; and
  5. Interactive teaching, group dynamics and educational group management.

The Minister of Education, Mr. Mensur Sinanović, the Professional Adviser at the Pedagogy Department of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Ms. Nevzeta Rezaković and the representative of DVV International - Country Office B&H, Ms. Emina Herić have also attended the training and supported its implementation.
