Completed “Curriculum ManagerALE” Program: A New Step in Strengthening Adult Education Management in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Possessing managerial and andragogical competencies is one of the key prerequisites for effective planning, organization, and development of adult education. For this reason, DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Adult Education Council of Sarajevo Canton and with the partnership support of the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo, implemented the Professional Development Program for Managers of Adult Education Institutions and Organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Curriculum ManagerALE.

The training was held in Sarajevo from September to December 2025 and was intended for managers and representatives of accredited adult education providers from Sarajevo Canton. Fourteen participants successfully completed the program, acquiring knowledge and skills essential for modern management in the field of adult education through six modules.

The program, totaling 264 teaching hours, consisted of six carefully designed modules:

  1. Fundamental knowledge of lifelong learning and adult education
  2. Needs assessment and strategic planning
  3. Management and leadership skills and competencies
  4. Networking and cooperation
  5. Financial management
  6. Monitoring and evaluation

Through interactive work, discussions, and practical tasks, participants developed competencies that will enable them to improve the functioning of educational organizations, plan programs more effectively, and strengthen cooperation with partners and the community.

The adaptation and delivery of the program were carried out by an expert and interdisciplinary team of lecturers whose expertise contributed to the quality and modern concept of the training:

The completion of the training was marked by a formal certificate award ceremony, emphasizing the importance of continuously strengthening professional capacities within the adult education system and the role of managers in developing high-quality and sustainable programs.
