Continuation of Basic Adult Education Training: Adult Education in Canton Sarajevo

Following the successful completion of the training in the West Herzegovina Canton earlier this year, a new cycle of Basic Adult Education Training has commenced in the Sarajevo Canton. A total of 13 participants from the non-governmental and public sectors will strengthen their competencies and capacities in the field of adult education through five modules. The training program lasts 120 teaching hours.

The first module titled "Adult learning - psychological fundamentals, characteristics, and learning styles" took place on October 16th and 17th, 2023. The trainer of the first module was Doc. Amina Isanović Hadžiomerović, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. The module covered the following topics:

  • Theoretical and conceptual approaches in adult education
  • Importance, needs and functions of adult education – individual and social
  • Motivation, willingness and barriers in the adult education process – importance, types and how to overcome them
  • Psychological basis of adult learning
  • Principles of adult education, with particular emphasis on individual customization
  • Ability to learn and types of intelligence
  • Learning channels and styles in adults
  • Adult educators – functions, roles and teaching styles.

The next training module, titled "Communication, group Dynamics, and management of educational groups," is scheduled for October 25th and 26th. Assistant Professor Perica Ivanek, Ph.D. will be trainer on this module.

The training is conducted in collaboration with the "Nova zanimanja" Adult Education Institution, based on the approval of the Ministry of Education of the Sarajevo Canton. Upon completion of the training, publicly recognized certificates in adult education training will be issued to all participants who meet the required criteria.
