DVV International Signs Memorandum on Cooperation with Ministry for Upbringing and Education of Sarajevo Canton

Ministry for Upbringing and Education of Sarajevo Canton hosted today a meeting between the Minister, Ms. Naida Hota-Muminović, Minister Assistant for Secondary Education and Adult Education, Ms. Lamija Husić, Professional Adviser Ms. Olivera Hasković and representatives of DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, Director Mr. Emir Avdagić, Ph.D. and Project Coordinator Ms. Dženita Džano, whereby a Memorandum on Cooperation in the field of adult education was signed for the year 2021.

Ministry for Upbringing and Education of Sarajevo Canton hosted today a meeting between the Minister, Ms. Naida Hota-Muminović, Minister Assistant for Secondary Education and Adult Education, Ms. Lamija Husić, Professional Adviser Ms. Olivera Hasković and representatives of DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, Director Mr. Emir Avdagić, Ph.D. and Project Coordinator Ms. Dženita Džano, whereby a Memorandum on Cooperation in the field of adult education was signed for the year 2021.

The meeting was organised as a preparation for the implementation of the following activities:

  • implementation of the software for monitoring and quality assurance in adult education „ISKOOM“;
  • strengthening non-formal networks of relevant actors in the field of adult education in Sarajevo Canton in cooperation with the partner organisation „ALDI“ from Goražde;
  • participation of the Ministry's employees in meetings of contact persons and capacity building activities from the field of adult education;
  • implementation of the publicly recognised program „Basic adult education training“ for the development of teaching staff in cooperation with the Center for Education, Development and Research of the Pedagogical Faculty of University of Sarajevo.

Besides the future cooperation within the upcoming three-year project phase (2022.-2024.), the meeting participants also discussed the process of implementation of adult education legislation, the need for strategic planning and adopting a strategy of the field's development, and current challenges the ministry, the providers and the final beneficiaries of adult education are facing with due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

The Minister, Ms. Hota-Muminović, welcomed the implementation of the mentioned projects and emphasized that the Ministry appreciated the DVVI's support in adult education and further cooperation that would improve the quality of adult education. Application of the monitoring software will enable networking adult education providers and strengthen control over the adult education processes in Sarajevo Kanton, which will finally contribute to the raising quality of adult education.
