From July 2nd to July 8th, four representatives from the Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD) - SMART Center for Adult Education, director Aida Daguda, financial manager Lejla Mijović, program manager Dajana Cvjetković, and project manager Adnan Mević, were on a study visit to the Volkshochschule (VHS) Frankfurt am Main. They actively participated in a rich series of activities and meetings. Director of DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dženita Džano, also participated in this visit.
The visit program was carefully planned by the director of VHS, Danijel Dejanović, and was based on the results of a self-evaluation instrument developed by DVV International - Office for Bosnia and Herzegovina in early 2023, which was completed by the representatives of CPCD. Together with representatives from VHS Frankfurt am Main, one of the largest adult education centers in Germany, the participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina learned about their work, diverse range of activities, educational programs, and initiatives carried out by VHS Frankfurt. The visit program also included familiarization with the process management and quality assurance system, as well as the exchange of knowledge and proposals for joint activities within the ERASMUS+ program.
Additionally, a visit to the Media Center (Medienzentrum) was organized, where colleagues learned about their work and role in the educational system. The CPCD team gained insights into the support provided by that institution and its collaboration with other national, regional, and European stakeholders.
It is important to mention the visit to HVV (Hessischer Volkshochschulverband), the umbrella organization representing the interests of 32 VHS institutions in the region Hessen. During that meeting, discussions were held on the quality of education, needs, and projects that can be implemented in the future.
The group also visited VHS Kaiserslautern, with the aim of understanding the digitization process in the field of adult education, getting acquainted with the programs and projects of VHS Kaiserslautern, as well as advanced technology and the integration of hybrid teaching methods.
We would like to thank the Volkshochschule Frankfurt am Main for the excellent organization of the visit, the key results of which have had a significant impact on our partner organization, CPCD, and have opened up many paths for future cooperation and progress in adult education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
