Yesterday, we had the pleasure and honor of welcoming our colleagues from Julius‑Maximilians‑Universität Würzburg. Our collaboration has been developing over the past several years through the Adult Education Academy, which they host. Many members of our team have had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge through this Academy. The Adult Education Academy represents a key platform for international networking and professional competence development, as it offers master’s and doctoral students, as well as practitioners, an intensive, international, and comparative insight into adult education and lifelong learning through hands-on work in Würzburg. This year, the Academy brought together 160 participants from four continents, affirming its truly international character.
Our gathering yesterday included a brief presentation on the state of adult education, with a focus on the activities carried out over the past years with the support of DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina. We also presented current initiatives, including EU projects and opportunities for utilizing EU funds, which we see as an important step toward further strengthening the adult education system in the years ahead. The presentation served as a starting point for numerous discussions that naturally evolved into informal conversations and exchanges of experience. Alongside our guests, we were joined by Professor Amina Isanović Hadžiomerović from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo, the host institution of this study visit.
Their visit to our office was part of a seven-day stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during which they had the opportunity to learn about the work of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo, as well as adult education centers that serve as our partner organizations, gaining a deeper insight into the adult education system in our country.
We take great pride in the fact that such exchanges, rooted in international cooperation, result in mutual visits that enrich not only our professional field but also our understanding of culture and tradition.
