Meeting of Adult Learning Contact Persons: Dialogue, cooperation and joint planning

On 22-23 October 2026, DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina organized its regular meeting of adult learning contact persons in Tarčin. The meeting brought together representatives of the competent education authorities from across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These meetings provide a unique platform for education authorities at all administrative levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina to exchange information and good practices. In addition to reviewing current developments in adult education within individual administrative units, this year's meeting focused on the Action Plan for Adult Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Action Plan is based on the Revised Strategic Platform for the Development of Adult Education in the Context of Lifelong Learning in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is aligned with its priorities. Its purpose is to ensure coordinated action across all administrative units and to direct joint efforts towards the further development of the adult education system.

Through group work using the World Café methodology, participants analysed the five objectives of the Action Plan, together with the proposed activities and measures. They also provided concrete recommendations for adapting these measures to the specific needs, capacities, and priorities of individual administrative units. Following the incorporation of the first round of amendments, the document will be circulated among participants for further consultation.

The second day of the meeting focused on reviewing the progress made in drafting three regulations, for which DVV International had previously agreed to provide support. Adult learning contact persons had earlier identified these regulations as one of the priority needs in the field of adult education.

The meeting once again confirmed the importance of continuous dialogue and coordination among the responsible institutions in advancing the adult education system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
