The Regional Youth Academy on Adult Learning and Education, held last week in Istanbul, represents a key event for young professionals in adult education. This academy, organized within the framework of the DVV International project "Continental Exchange" in partnership with the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of young experts from Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
The importance of this academy lies in the fact that it brings together young professionals from different countries, allowing them to exchange experiences, ideas, and best practices in adult education. Through interactive workshops and lectures, participants had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills and connect with attendees and colleagues from other countries.
Representatives from six countries participated in the academy: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, and Georgia. This diversity of participants enabled a rich exchange of experiences and perspectives, which further contributed to the quality and significance of the training.
The delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina consisted of a member of the DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina team, as well as representatives from CEI NAHLA and the Smart Resource Center.
The knowledge and skills of excellent trainers enriched the academy. The first day of the academy was led by Angeliki Giannakopoulou (EAEA), who mainly spoke about theories that influenced the concept of adult education. The second day of the academy was led by Prof. Katarina Popović, focusing on civic education and the historical development of adult education from the dawn of civilization to the modern era. On the last day, Greta Pelucco (EAEA) took over the training baton, with the main topic being advocacy in the field of adult education.
Participants had the opportunity to gain new knowledge, develop their skills, and connect with colleagues from other countries, which will help them in their further professional development and contribution to adult education in their countries.
