Belgium hosts the General Assembly and Annual Conference of the European Association for Education of Adults. At the assembly, two adult education organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina were promoted as ordinary/candidate members, on the initiative and with the support of DVV International. These are the Center for Education and Research NAHLA from Sarajevo and the Association for Local Development Initiatives ALDI from Goražde.

The General Assembly is organized on „Transformative Learning and Values“ to discuss how transformative learning shapes values among citizens and how it can foster those values. The participants will also map the values that adult learning and education should promote and the values connected to the green and digital transitions to find ways in which transformative learning could contribute to mitigating unwanted consequences of such transition processes.

EAEA was founded in 1953 to link and represent European organizations directly involved in adult learning and promote access to and participation in non-formal adult education for all. Currently, EAEA connects 120 organizations for adult education from 43 European countries. After many years Bosnia and Herzegovina has its representatives with voting rights in this umbrella association for adult education on the European level.
