Tenth Meeting of Contact Persons for Adult Education Took Place in Mostar

This-year's second meeting of contact persons for adult education took place in Mostar on 13th and 14th of December, and was organised by DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was hosted by the director of DVV International - Country Office B&H, Dr. Sc. Emir Avdagić, and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Dr. Sc. Rašid Hadžović.

The objective of this tenth meeting was to exchange information on current events in the field of adult education among administrative units, to present the results and key recommendations for improvement from the recently held meetings on „Laws and Regulation in the Field of Adult Education“, as well as to identify specific needs of administrative units and possibilities of cooperation with each other and with DVV International in the next period.

Representatives of eight administrative units participated in the meeting, and beside the Minister Hadžović, three more ministers contributed to the work and results: Prof.Dr Elvir Kazazović (Sarajevo Canton), Mr Damir Žuga (Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde), Mr Mensur Sinanović (Zenica-Doboj Canton), as well as the Minister Assistant in the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Adnan Husić, and the director of the Institute for Adult Education of Republic of Srpska, mr. Goran Zmijanjac.

The next meeting of contact persons for adult education will be held in spring 2019, and the host will be the Department for Education of the Government of District Brčko.

Educational authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have put significant efforts in regulation of the field of adult education recently whereby the ministers of education, as well as contact persons for adult education in the responsible ministries, have made a huge contribution to these processes. Therefore, DVV International - Country Office B&H organised a dinner party in Mostar where the director, Dr. Avdagić, delivered the Certificates of Appreciation for significant contribution and cooperation in developing and regulating the field of adult education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
