Two New Adult Education Facilities in Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde Opened in December

Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde in the last few years sees an accelerated economic growth based on favourable framework conditions for operations of domestic and foreign companies, and the policy makers made an important contribution in creating such an environment by adopting adult education legislation.

However, to reach the maximum efficiency in implementation of adult education programs, it is necessary to continuously build and strengthen institutional and personnel capacities of adult education providers which is one of the key focuses of work of DVV International within improving conditions for adult education.

DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, therefore, in 2018 supported the Association „ALDI“ Goražde in establishing an innovative training laboratory - IT Lab, and the PI Vocational Secondary School „Džemal Bijedić“ Goražde in renovating, equipping, and opening a classroom for adult education within the school facilities.

Official opening of the mentioned premises was organised on Thursday, 20th of December, and the spatial-material conditions for realisation of both formal and non-formal programmes of adult education are now significantly improved in this canton.

The first Innovative Training Laboratory (IT Lab) in the Upper Drina Region was opened by director of DVV International - Country Office B&H, Dr.sc. Emir Avdagić, and executive director of the Association „ALDI“ Goražde, Ms Meliha Gačanin as an end of the implementation of this-year's joint project of these organisations in the field of assuring and increasing quality in adult education.

The classroom for adult education within the Vocational Secondary School „Džemal Bijedić“ Goražde was fully equipped in order to improve reach, access, and quality of the educational offer in accordance with the contemporary needs which include digital formats of teaching and learning. The classroom was opened by Dr.Sc. Emir Avdagić, and the school's director, Mr Admir Kurtović.
